David is a Network Applications Engineer for tw telecom based out of the Honolulu office and serving the state of Hawaii. David has been in the information technology industry since 1984. David has worked for the University of Hawaii, Software Plus, Software House International, and TD Food Service, Inc just previously to tw telecom. He has worked on wide area network deployment through out the state as well as to Guam and Saipan. At tw telecom, David assists account executives with pre- and post-sale technical questions, and design network solutions for customers. He also works closely with tw telecom Operations department on new customer network designs to ensure designs can be implemented.
Judy Irvine – Administration - events@htca.org
For some years an anchor of our society, Judy is a telecommunications professional who handles our administation and helps to pick up the balls we drop. Some years into the job, she earned the respect of a succession of board members with conscientious work on topics that matter in telecommunications, and a sure touch with the issues in association management. She handles our monthly dining arrangements, a household with three children, and our membership renewals; she works with the the Lanikai Canoe Club, and coordinates with the planning group for our annual conference.

Born and raised in Kapa’a on the island of Kaua’i, Marji received her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa , then earning a Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems at Hawaii Pacific University.
During her 12 years with tw telecom, formerly known as Oceanic Communications and Time Warner Telecom, Marji began her career as an engineering summer intern then accepted a contract engineer position working on Provisioning, Transmission, and Outside Plant Engineering after graduation.
From Operations as a Network Technician, to Central Office Technician then Central Office Engineer, Marji rose to her current position as a Network Applications Engineer assisting account executives with all of their pre- and post-sale technical questions and design of customer networks and solutions.
Notably, Marji is was member in the HPU Chapter of Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society, recipient of 2006 High Tech Leader Award and also featured in November 2008 Technology News Bytes “Women in Tech.”
Outside of work, Marji is currently serving with the Hawaii Telecommunications Association Board as Treasurer, was a former treasurer of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. – Hawaii Section, volunteers in planning and organization of church’s annual East Honolulu Food Festival fundraiser and volunteers at the Hawaii Public Radio Semi-annual membership drive.
Time permitting Marji enjoys her true passion of spending time in the ocean surfing and fishing, Pilates, and reading.

Susan is Vice President of Communications Solution Consulting for ComTel, Hawaii’s trusted provider of Unified Communications. Her accomplished professional career spans over twenty-five years of management, operational and technical experience in the field of information technologies and related industries. Her recognized achievements, results orientation, and broad range of experiences includes successful assignments with telephone utilities, equipment vendors, software developers, and consulting firms’ as well as directing Information Systems operations for a 22-property hotel chain and a regional airline. This extensive background facilitates and enables her to advise ComTel’s clients how to implement and optimize new converged technologies and applications to improve their efficiencies and productivity, while maintaining a strong balance between quality, customer focus and the corporate “bottom line”. She has earned both BS and MBA degrees and is the past president of the Board of Directors of the Association of IT Professionals and Hawaii Telecommunications Association.

Diane started in the telecommunications industry for over 25 years by selling pagers and cell phones. She now is a Corporate Account Manager for Hawaiian Telcom and services named Corporate Accounts through-out the State of Hawaii . Diane is the single point of contact for her customers to customize services (voice and data networks, equipment, Long Distance, Internet and managed services) that connect all their business together across the state. You can tell that she truly loves her job and continues to make a difference for her customers and co-workers.
Diane’s hobbies are going to the movies, bowling, being a Weight Watchers Advocate and listening to Rock and Roll.

Ann is a senior manager of corporate communications at Hawaiian Telcom, the state's leading communications provider. Prior to her current position, she was the public relations officer for Straub Clinic & Hospital.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Ann earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the Honolulu Theatre for Youth and is a past president of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC-Hawaii).

Dale has over 35 years of experience providing Wireless Telecomunications andNetworks solutions and services that transport Voice, Video, and Data for Public Safety 1st responders, State & Local Government, Federal Government, Utilities, Cellular Carriers, and Enterprise customers. Dale oversees the Engineering Dept, Technical Services Divisions, and the Sales Department of Pacific Wireless Communications. Previous to Pacific Wireless Communications, Dale was employed for 26 years with Motorola Communications International Inc. where he held various Director and Manager positions in Sales, Engineering, Networks Services and Program Management in Hawaii, Alaska, Philippines, Japan, Australia, and Guam.

Richard Filanc – Advisor
Richard was formerly a Corporate Account Manager with Hawaiian Telcom managing solutions for corporate accounts in private education and healthcare. Formerly he was a commercial Project Manager with HT implementing voice/data/wireless systems for hospitality, healthcare, education, government, and many others.
Richard is the former Operations Director for Maui Sky Fiber, the nation’s first commercial 3G wireless network. During his tenure with Maui Sky Fiber, Richard oversaw the design and implementation of both the data network as well as numerous transmission hubs around the island of Maui.
Before joining Maui Sky Fiber, Richard was a Senior Project Manager for Verizon Media Ventures (Americast Honolulu) from 1997 to 2001. Prior to his time with Americast, Richard spent three years with O’ahu Wireless Cable where he served as department manager in charge of customer installations.
While Richard was with OWC, he also participated in a number of special projects including serving as a Training Instructor for over 500 installers for the Malaysia Mega TV Project (1996), and as a Special Projects Coordinator for the JTB Hotel project.
Richard has attended the University of Hawaii, Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training for Cisco Networking Certification, and GTE Educational Services Honolulu, Hawaii where he received certificates in Management Development, Project Management, Effective Supervision, and Inteli-Cable Database Operations.
